With a host of technologies available to add to your awning, it can extend and retract on its own.  A sun sensor detects when the heat is on and extends your awning to shade your home. Worried about wind?  A wind sensor detects excessive frame movement and retracts your awning if it’s too windy.  A timer can extend and retract your awnings according to a schedule. You can even control your awning from anywhere with your smartphone.  And of course, if you prefer the original method, you may opt for the hand-cranked retractable awning.
